神舟十三号航天员完成首次出舱任务

Taikonauts Zhai Zhigang and Wang Yaping have completed their extravehicular activities (EVAs) and returned to the space station core module Tianhe, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said on early hours of Monday.

中国载人航天工程办公室11月8日早间消息，航天员翟志刚、王亚平圆满完成出舱任务，安全返回天和核心舱。

The event was the third extravehicular mission conducted during the construction of the country's space station and the first by the Shenzhou-13 crew. It also marks the first EVAs in Chinese space history involving a female taikonaut, said the agency, which has declared Monday's EVAs a complete success.

工程办宣布，8日的出舱活动取得了圆满成功。这是中国载人航天工程空间站阶段第三次航天员出舱活动，是神舟十三号航天员乘组首次出舱活动，也是中国航天史上首次有女航天员参加的出舱活动。

The pair returned to the core module at 1:16 a.m. (Beijing Time) after 6.5 hours of extravehicular activities. They completed a series of extravehicular tasks.

8日凌晨1时16分，经过约6.5小时的出舱活动，完成一系列既定任务后，翟志刚、王亚平搭档安全返回核心舱。

The mission further tested the functions of the China-developed new-generation extravehicular spacesuits, the coordination between the taikonauts and the mechanical arm, and the reliability and safety of supporting equipment related to the EVAs, the CMSA noted.

工程办表示，本次出舱任务进一步检验了我国新一代舱外航天服的功能性能，检验了航天员与机械臂协同工作的能力，以及出舱活动相关支持设备的可靠性与安全性。

This year marks the largest Singles' Day shopping festival on Tmall, with a record 290,000 brands participating and more than 14 million types of commodities offering discounts, according to the company.

China will include screening for depression in student health checks amid efforts to prevent the mental disorder among teenagers, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Ministry of Education.

11月9日，教育部发文明确对青少年进行预防抑郁症教育，将抑郁症筛查纳入学生健康体检内容。

The statement was released in response to a proposal on preventing depression among teenage students put forth by the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, during its fourth session from March 4 to 10 this year.

该文件是对3月4日至10日举行的政协第十三届全国委员会第四次会议上提出的有关青少年抑郁症防治措施的提案作出的答复。

A record of students' mental health will also be kept so as to track their health status on a regular basis and offer timely interventions if they show signs of mental conditions, said the statement, noting that a system for the prevention of the illness will be put in place.

文件指出，将建立学生心理健康档案，评估学生心理健康状况，对测评结果异常的学生给予重点关注，建立全过程青少年抑郁症防治服务、评估体系。

One person died and another 5,609 people were affected during the heavy snowstorm in Tongliao, North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China Central Television (CCTV) reported late Monday. 

据中央电视台11月8日晚间报道，内蒙古自治区通辽市暴风雪已致1人死亡，5609人受灾。

The snowstorm, which started Friday, has affected eight counties in Tongliao, leading to about 35 million yuan ($5.5 million) in economic losses, CCTV said.

According to media reports, authorities in Tongliao issued a red alert for snowstorms for a continuous three days as of Sunday, and initiated a major meteorological disaster (blizzard gale) level II emergency response.
